A water ripple ceiling panel finished with PVD colour. The relief is unchanged; what changes is the tone the reflected light carries, which moves the same three-dimensional surface from cool and minimal to warm, dramatic or strongly decorative without altering the geometry.
Colour over relief
Applying colour to a textured surface is not the same as colouring a flat sheet. The coating follows the relief, so the highlights sit on the peaks and the tone deepens in the valleys, and the effective colour changes with the viewing angle. That is the reason a ripple surface in colour reads more strongly than the same colour on a flat panel.
Available tones
Gold, red bronze and sky blue are shown on the medium ripple texture above. Further PVD tones including champagne, bronze and dark titanium are produced against a reference, and project-specific colours are developed from the required reference and production requirements.
Colour consistency
PVD batches are held to an average colour difference below DE 1.0. On a ceiling this matters more than on a vertical surface, because adjacent panels are compared side by side under the same downlights, where a small shift is more visible than on a wall.
Interior use
The coloured ripple surface is intended for interior ceilings and feature surfaces. Suitability for a specific location is confirmed against the project environment, substrate and technical requirements rather than assumed.
