Projects — Stainless Steel Material and System Studies

Stainless Steel Material and System Studies
Applied material and system studies for architects, facade consultants and procurement teams
How stainless steel is specified, detailed and finished across facades, interiors and public spaces — the material strategy, the constructional reasoning, and the production controls that hold it together.
One Structure, Every Study.
Each study follows the same structure: the design proposition, the material composition, the assemblies where materials meet, the material and process schedule, the performance targets, and the execution controls that decide the final result.
They are written for people who have to make the material decisions first and then defend them in production. Every figure in them traces back to a real specification call: a grade, a finish, a joint width, a colour tolerance.
Material Systems in Application.
Three systems so far — a four-material civic curtain wall, a single PVD finish carried from facade to interior, and a large-format brushed hotel envelope.

Riverside Civic & Cultural Centre
A four-material curtain wall: brushed 316L stainless steel, low-iron glass, UHPC and champagne-gold PVD trim, set out across three stacked planes in an explicit hierarchy of lightness.

Nantong Riverside Corporate Headquarters
Warm sand-gold PVD stainless steel — cross-hatch brushed on a parametric module wall and perforated through a six-storey atrium — carried from the outer facade through every public interior.

Yuhang Renhe Crystal-Lattice Hotel
Large-format retro brushed stainless steel over smoked blue-grey glazing, layered with an abstract hexagonal crystal-lattice perforated system and warm point-light arrays.

304 vs 316L Stainless Steel: How to Choose the Right Grade for Your Project
304 and 316L are both austenitic stainless steels, but 316L's 2-3% molybdenum makes it far more resistant to chloride pitting (typical PREN ~25 vs ~19).…

PVD Color Consistency for Architectural Stainless Steel: Controlling Color Variation Across Facade Panels
PVD color consistency is the difference between a facade that reads as one surface and one with visibly mismatched panels. This guide explains why PVD p…

How to Choose Stainless Steel Surface Finish (2026 Guide)
A stainless steel surface finish determines how your project looks, how easy it is to clean, how it resists corrosion, and what it costs. This guide com…
Learn moreSend Us the Elevation and the Finish Schedule.
Whether you are specifying a facade system, checking that a PVD colour will hold across a large elevation, or need a grade decision for a chloride-exposed location, we can answer it against your drawings.
Send us your elevation and finish schedule, and we will return a panel-by-panel material and finish proposal.
