Curved Mirror Canopy and Column Cladding

Carrying a curved mirror surface from the canopy into the columns turns the whole entrance into one reflective family. The approach, the planting and the people are all returned from several directions at once, which is why this treatment is used where the entrance is meant to be memorable.

Multiple reflections

Canopy, soffit and column each present a different part of the approach. The composition is judged as a group rather than as three separate surfaces.

Radius consistency

A curved mirror shows any change in radius immediately. Panels for the canopy and the columns are formed to the same tooling where the curves relate.

Practical limits

Columns are touched. Where they are within reach, a satin or brushed finish is usually substituted so handling marks do not accumulate.
