Shadow Gap Skirting System

A shadow gap replaces the skirting with an absence. Instead of a profile projecting from the wall, the base is set back so a dark line appears where the wall meets the floor, and the wall above appears to stop just short of it.

How the gap is formed
The gap is created by a recessed channel or a set-back base panel. The depth and height of the recess determine how dark the line reads, which is why it is set against the floor colour and the lighting.
Why it suits stainless
A continuous metal plane has no natural termination. A shadow gap gives it an edge without adding another material, so the surface reads as a single sheet that simply stops.
Detailing
The recess needs a clean internal corner and a consistent depth. It is part of the panel scope, resolved with the floor build-up rather than added after the floor is laid.
Sampling and quotation
An A4-size project sample is available within 3 days so the material can be judged under real light before it is specified. Initial quotation response is provided for qualified project inquiries, and MOQ with lead time is confirmed against the confirmed project scope rather than assumed from the product type.
See the wall systems or discuss a shadow gap detail.
